化石点位于和政县三合镇杨家村腰庄社老沟，该点出露地层地层包括上庄组、东乡组、老沟组（虎家梁组）、柳树组、积石组及第四系沉积，是中中新世晚期老沟组的命名地。老沟组（虎家梁组）为灰黄色砾质砂岩，总体松散，偶尔形成硬层。中中新世铲齿象动物群化石主要产出于老沟组中，产出的化石多为铲齿象和库班猪的较完整的头骨和不完整的骨架。已知的化石包括上猿(Pliopithecus sp.)，犬熊(Amphicyon tai-rumensis)，戈壁犬(Gobicyon sp.)，徳氏狗(Hemcyon teilhardi)，中鬣狗(Percrocuta tun-gurensis)，嵌齿象(Gomphotherium sp.)，葛氏铲齿象(Platybelodon grangeri)，戈壁安琪马(An-chitherium gobiense)，老沟奇角犀(Alicornops laogounse)，马德里西班牙犀(Hisspanotherium matritense)，蒙古利齿猪(Listriodon Mongoiensis)，库斑猪(Kubanochoeros gigas)
The fossil site is at Yaozhuangshelaogou, Yangjia Village, Sanhe Town, Hezheng County. The exposed strata include Shangzhuang Formation, Dongxiang Formation, Laogou Formation (Hujialiang Fm.), Liushu Formation, Jishi Formation and Quaternary Sedimentation and is the naming place of the Laogou Formation in the late Miocene. Rocks in Laogou Formation (Hujialiang group) are gray-yellow gravel sandstone, which is generally loose and occasionally formed hard layers. The fossils of the mid-Miocene Platybelodon fauna are mainly produced in Laogou Formation, most of which are relatively complete skulls and incomplete skeletons of Platybelodonand Kubanochoeros gigas. The known fossils include Pliopithecus sp.，Amphicyon tai-rumensis，Gobicyon sp.，Hemcyon teilhardi，Percrocuta tun-gurensis，Gomphotherium sp.，Platybelodon grangeri，An-chitherium gobiense，Alicornops laogounse，Hisspanotherium matritense，Listriodon Mongoiensis，Kubanochoeros gigas.
