In 2022,  Department of Culture and Tourism in Gansu Province launched the campaign of "100 Wonderful Destinations of Gansu Cultural Tourism" to create a thematic network publicity activity. After nearly a month of evaluation and selection, Linxia Geopark Hezheng Paleozoological Museum was successfully listed.

Linxia Geopark Hezheng Paleozoological Museum, as the only museum of late Cenozoic ancient vertebrae and ancient mammal fossils in China, has attracted the attention of experts and scholars at home and abroad and plays an important role in research tourism and scientific research base because of its abundant, diverse and well preserved fossils. It has been successively rated as Hezheng research base of the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the national youth science popularization education base, the national youth patriotism education base, etc; It has won the "10th National Museum Top Ten Exhibition Award" and "National New Era Top 100 Exhibition Award".

By protecting and making good use of fossil cultural tourism resources, the cultural brand of Hezheng Paleozoological Museum will continue to develop in a high-quality and high-end direction, continue to create high-quality exhibitions, tell fossil stories, make cultural relics alive, and add new achievements for the successful application of the Global Geopark.
