December 7, 2022 Annual Meeting of UNESCO Global Geoparks in China was held in Xiangxi, Hunan province. The theme of this annual meeting is the construction and development of Global geoparks under the new situation. The annual meeting was held for the first time in the form of online plus offline. There are 41 UNESCO Gloabal Geoparks and 7 aspiring Global Geoparks attended the meeting online. They exchange working fruits, share experience, and work together to plan a sustainable development of the Global Geopark.

Linxia Geopark participated in the annual meeting as an aspiring Global Geopark, we demonstrated the rich and diverse heritage resources, unique landform, magnificent and beautiful natural scenery, brilliant and profound history and culture, rich and unique folk customs in the area of the geopark through the cloud platform. At the meeting, Ma Jun, Secretary of the CPC Party Group and Director of  Linxia Geopark Service Center,  reported the progress of the work on the  application and creation of Linxia Global Geopark such as heritage resources protection, infrastructure construction, identification system optimization, geological scientific research achievements, science popularization and education, compilation of archives, preparation for evaluation.

The annual meeting of UNESCO Global Geoparks in China is the most influential activity in the field. Linxia Geopark will follow the application and creation requirements of "High starting point, high quality and high standard" from the prefecture government and take this opportunity to focus on and deeply develop the cultural tourism throughout the prefecture. We will integrate the work into the new development pattern, make every effort to do a good job, prepare for the evaluation, improve the administration level of the geopark, and strive to achieve the golden signboard of Linxia  Global Geopark as soon as possible!
