丹霞是地球演化史中重要阶段的突出例证，是区域大陆性地壳发育到特定阶段的标志。高耸的山峰、陡峭的崖壁和幽深的峡谷，加之绝美的河流、湖泊以及广为覆盖的植被，构成了中国丹霞壮美的景观。在绚丽多彩的临夏地质公园内拥有着丰富而多样的地质遗迹，记录着这里沧海桑田的变化。永靖美丽的黄河畔，就有一座浩大的“天然雕塑博物馆”——炳灵丹霞。晨曦初照的“她”纯美娴静，日落西山的“她”妩媚多姿。“她”与黄河水交织形成了“水影丹霞”的奇特景观。整个丹霞地质公园内是以干旱和半干旱区典型丹霞地貌景观为主体，以炳灵寺石窟、黄河三峡等资源为辅，集地质观光、地质科普和文化体验为一体的综合性的地质公园。公园内群峰林立，千岩竞秀，形态各异的石柱、崖穴、崖壁、峰丛等奇山异石，构成了大自然鬼斧神工的绝妙景致。其中的地层是以早白垩纪（1.2-1.44亿年前）红色陆相沉积地层为载体，具有较高的观赏价值和地质科研科普价值，是宝贵的、不可再生的自然资源。林立的砂岩峰丛、变幻莫测的侵蚀“壁龛”、高耸的悬崖峭壁、奇异的地貌景观，让游客游历于沟谷之间，仿佛置身于幻境与迷宫之中；奇峰林立的景观和峰回路转的峡谷以及神秘而多样的“壁龛”是摄影旅游的最佳选择。俯视炳灵丹霞，雄壮而沧桑；泛舟炳灵丹霞，依山而灵动；走进炳灵丹霞，峰回路转，一步一景，美不胜收。
Danxia is an example of an important stage in the evolution history of the earth and a sign that the regional continental crust has developed to a specific stage. High peaks, steep cliffs and deep canyons, along with stunning rivers, lakes and extensive vegetation, forms domestic Danxia landform.There are rich and varied geological relics in Linxia Geoparks recording the geological changes . along the bank of Yellow River in Yongjing county , there is a natural sculpture museum - Bingling Danxia landform .Danxia Geopark is a comprehensive Geopark integrating geological sightseeing, geological science popularization and cultural experience, with typical Danxia landforms in arid and semi-arid areas as the main body and resources such as Bingling Temple Grottoes and the Three Gorges of the Yellow River as auxiliary resources. In the park, there are many peaks and thousands of rocks, with various stone pillars, caves, cliffs, peaks and mountains, forming a marvelous scenery of nature. The strata are red continental sediment of the early Cretaceous period(120 to 144 million years ago). They are valuable and non-renewable natural resources with high ornamental and scientific research value. A forest of sandstone peaks, eroding niches, towering cliffs, and exotic landscapes make visitors feel as if they are in a fantasy and maze. The landscape with its peaks and winding canyons as well as its mysterious and varied niches, are the best place for photo.
