化石产出地层岩性为浅红色的细砂岩、泥岩和砂砾岩，属晚中新世晚期地层。主要产出三趾马动物群化石。
The fossil-producing strata are light red fine sandstone, mudstone, and sandy conglomerate in the Late Miocene, mainly producing hipparion fauna fossils. At present, the fossil cave entrance has been severely damaged by human excavation.
