化石产出地层岩性为浅灰色泥岩、砂砾岩、红土，属晚中新世晚期地层。有 20 多个洞口，出产三趾马化石。
The fossil-producing strata are light gray mudstone and glutenite red soil, belonging to the late stage of the late Miocene, with more 20 caves producing hipparion fossils.
