The 5th Asia Pacific Geopark Week and the 55th World Earth Day "Friendly Sister Park Exhibition and Interaction" series of science popularization activities have been launched!
为做好2024年第五届亚太地质公园周和第55个世界地球日科普宣传活动，加强姊妹公园宣传联动和科普互动，推动社会科普宣传工作建设，向广大公众展示世界地质公园和发展成果，广东丹霞山、浙江雁荡山等46家地质公园和中国地质大学（武汉）逸夫博物馆联合发起第55个世界地球日“友好姊妹公园互展互动”活动暨第五届亚太地质公园周宣传活动。主会场启动仪式将于4月19日在中国地质大学（武汉）逸夫博物馆报告厅正式启动！
本次活动由国内46家地质公园，一同举办地质公园20周年摄影展、“最美地球印记”地质公园摄影比赛、世界地球日科普知识大闯关游戏、“邮票上的世界地质公园”打卡及系列科普活动，并联合各渠道进行推广，助力地质公园提升科普影响力，推动地球科学知识传播，吸引公众关爱地球家园，促进地质公园等自然保护地可持续发展。

世界地质公园 ：
世界地质公园是由联合国教科文组织在全世界范围内评选出的以其地质科学意义、珍奇秀丽和独特的地质景观为主，融合自然景观与人文景观的自然公园。
世界地质公园的建设旨在推动地质遗迹与生态环境保护，促进地方经济发展与解决群众就业、科学研究与知识普及，提高全民素质，为生态文明建设和地方文化传承做出了卓越贡献。
截至目前，联合国教科文组织世界地质公园总数为213个，分布在全球48个国家和地区，在中国分布有47个世界地质公园，暂居世界首位。
In order to carry out the science popularization activities for the 5th Asia Pacific Geopark Week and the 55th World Earth Day in 2024, we strengthen the linkage and interaction between sister parks, promote the construction of social science popularization, and showcase the development achievements of Global geoparks to the mass, 46 geoparks including Danxia Mountain in Guangdong and Yandang Mountain in Zhejiang, as well as the Yifu Museum of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), jointly launched the 55th World Earth Day "Friendly Sister Park Exhibition and Interaction" activity and the 5th Asia Pacific Geopark Week promotion activity. The launch ceremony of the main venue will officially start on April 19th at the lecture hall of the Yifu Museum at China University of Geosciences (Wuhan)!
This event is jointly organized by 46 China geoparks, including the 20th anniversary photography exhibition of geoparks, the "Most Beautiful Earth Impressions" geopark photography competition, the World Earth Day science popularization knowledge challenge game, the "World Geopark on the Stamp" check-in and a series of science popularization activities. It is promoted through various channels to help geoparks enhance their science popularization influence, promote the dissemination of earth science knowledge, attract public care for the Earth's home and promote the sustainable development of nature reserves such as geoparks.

Global Geopark
The Global Geopark is a natural park selected by UNESCO worldwide for its geological and scientific significance, rare beauty, and unique geological landscapes, integrating natural and cultural landscapes.
The construction of the Global Geopark aims to promote the protection of geological relics and ecological environment, promote local economic development, solve the problem of employment, scientific research and knowledge popularization, improve the quality of the whole population, and make outstanding contributions to the construction of ecological civilization and the inheritance of local culture.
As of now, the total number of UNESCO Global Geoparks is 213, distributed in 48 countries and regions around the world. In China, there are 47 Global Geoparks, ranking first in the world.
