马家窑文化是黄河上游新石器时代晚期文化。因最安特生整理发掘彩陶早发现于马家窑遗址而安特生(马家窑文化发现者)得名，年代约为公元前3300年-前2100年 。
Situated in the upper reaches of the Yellow River, Majiayao culture is neolithic culture. It was named after Majiayao site where painted pottery were discovered by Anderson (the discoverer of Majiayao culture). The date of the discovery was about 3300 B.C. -- 2100 B.C.
